Drum & Bass For the soundcheck of subwoofers, Matten M. provided us with some drum sequences. |

Soundfile 01 Mp3 | Soundfile 02 Mp3 | Soundfile 03 Mp3 |
You can hear a "Quasi Reggae-Beat" at 120 Bpm for about 20 seconds. (Beat per minute) Then the beat is reduced to the bass drum only, in order to be able to judge the decay behaviour of the bass loudspeaker neutrally. Now the beat is enriched with other instruments in order to be able to judge the entire sound spectrum. The length is approx. 1 min and 44 sec. | The soundfile 2 consists of a 23 sec. long "hand in box" beat at 115 Bpm. Then the beat is reduced to the bass drum with extreme! Low bass and long swing out. Now the beat is enriched with other instruments to be able to judge the whole sound spectrum. The length is approx. 1 min and 47 sec. | You hear a "Techno Pop" with a stronger snare for about 24 sec., in order to be able to judge also the lower midrange. The length is approx. 1 min and 49 sec. |
Soundfile 04 Mp3 | Soundfile Doppelbass 1 Mp3 | Soundfile Doppelbass 2 Mp3 |
Probably the most expressive sound file with a "M Bombs" beat. It consists of an extremely deep bass drum and a long lasting swing with a proper "kick" in the midrange to be able to judge these frequencies in the spectrum. The length is approx. 1 min and 47 sec. . | This double bass sound file is a "quasi reggae beat" at 120 bpm, at the end with a double bass drum. After approx. 20 seconds the instruments are reduced, the bass drum increases in intensity. Towards the end the bass drum remains with fast impulses. Optimal for judging the decay of the loudspeakers. The length is approx. 2 min and 02 sec. | This double bass sound file is similar to the double bass sound file 1, but the bass drum has a shorter pulse and the frequency range is slightly higher. The reaction speed of the diaphragm can be judged well. The length is approx. 1 min and 50 sec. |
For the evaluation and adjustment of subwoofer & amplifier you can use appropriate music - however, longer repetitions without much music in the mid-high range are better. You can turn the controls and hear the reaction of the subwoofer at different volume levels. The Wav files below should of course be played back = low, strong, fast - especially in the decay behaviour. You can clearly hear the lack of reaction speed or reset time of the membrane after the signal has ended with the usual (also expensive) subwoofers = it rumbles. Quite different with the H-100: The bass drum is fast, brutal and without sponginess even in live volume. |
