W-132 13cm Mid-bass speaker

We are now using our proven membrane concept from the high-end C-191 in this 132 x 147 mm mid-bass driver. The still-soft aluminum membrane blank is asymmetrically cut and hard-anodized on both sides. The slots are then hermetically sealed with a highly damping compound – the best synthesis of both membrane concepts: rigid and stable, yet with a short decay time in the midrange.
Other features include: a die-cast aluminum basket with voice coil ventilation, a rubber surround with a wave-breaker profile, and a soft suspension for very low free-air resonance, a prerequisite for good bass reproduction in small sealed enclosures from 3 liters. For deeper bass, we recommend 6-10 liters.

The applications are diverse: one or more pieces per box and the special combination with the T-1.0C tweeter as a high-end coaxial driver.

We developed the coaxial version of our T-1.0 specifically for use with our 132 x 147 mm mid-bass driver. The tweeter is screwed directly to a flat side of the W-132 basket. The tweeter cable disappears underneath through a small hole, which must be sealed airtight.
This places the dome tweeter precisely in the center of the W-132. The asymmetrical front panel is heavily damped on the back to filter out unwanted overtones from the W-132. This design allows for the creation of a top-class point source speaker with a 6 dB tweeter crossover.
