BF-05 Butyl adhesive film 1m x 0.5m x 1mm

The butyl mix is ​​similar to our ABX aluminum butyl, but without the aluminum foil, and is 1mm thick. Its high tackiness on both sides creates a very durable bond when combined with rubber foams – better than the bond achieved on the aluminum side of aluminum butyl. This combination provides both sound dampening for sheet metal and thermal insulation.
Application: The surface must be clean and free of grease/oil.

For metal sheets with water-repellent paint (lotus effect), adhesion is improved if they are lightly sanded.
After removing the white protective layer, the film is pressed down lengthwise in the middle and then smoothed out to the sides to minimize bubble formation.

Blisters can be punctured with a sharp cutter and pressed down.

Applying high pressure improves adhesion. After removing the grey protective layer, the rubber film is pressed down as firmly as possible.

The BF-05 film conforms to any contour and is therefore not under tension. Rubber foams, depending on their thickness, retain their tension, which means they cannot be permanently applied at angles of approximately 20-30° or even at right angles.
